About the Foundation

Thank you for your interest in Hanoi’s Lost Child Foundation. I am founding HLCF as a way to give something back to the women and men who have served in the U.S. military. I had the privilege to serve in the United States Air Force for six years. I saw the dedication and commitment of our uniformed service men and women who, like myself, passed on better paying jobs, left homes and families, and sacrificed to serve our country. Many of those men and women have paid and continue to pay a great price for their service. Some paid the greatest price possible.

I was fortunate. I received education, a career, and made many lasting friendships. My service has continued to bring news friends and new opportunities for me. I desire very much to share the blessings I have received with my brothers and sisters who have served but have given and lost far more than they received.

Wounded in body, or mind, or spirit, many soldiers have returned from their service unable to return to the lives they knew. There are many organizations that serve these deserving veterans. Only a few are well known. Many are hardly known except to those they help.

The mission of HLCF is to provide charitable relief and assistance within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) to U.S. military veterans, their families, and charitable military organizations serving U.S. military veterans and their families.

HLCF will provide assitance to organizations serving veterans in the Cincinnati region and nationally. The process will consist of a review of applications and a determination by our Board of Directors. We will be completely transparent in our operation. All revenues, expenses, grant requests, and grant awards will be disclosed and available on our website. This site is currently in development and will be live prior to February, 2019.

Hanoi’s Lost Child Foundation is named after a song that I wrote and recorded with my band, One Degree From Mande. I am releasing this song on July 22, 2017, at a release party sponsored by and being held at the VFW Fred Callaway Post 6770 in New Richmond, OH. VFW 6770 has graciously partnered with HLCF to release and promote “Hanoi’s Lost Child”. As a non-profit, they are also assisting with financial management until HLCF is formerly incorporated and granted non-profit status.

I am donating 100% of the royalties from sales of “Hanoi’s Lost Child” to the foundation. Further I will continue to promote HLCF through my musical and professional activities. HLCF will seek sponsors and partners locally and nationally to further its mission of recognizing, promoting and supporting those groups and organizations who are serving our veterans.

I would like to ask you to support the mission of Hanoi’s Lost Child Foundation in three ways. First please like our Facebook page @HanoisLostChildFoundation and share it as widely as possible. Second, please consider purchasing “Hanoi’s Lost Child” when it is released on July 22, and perhaps making a small donation to the Foundation which you will be able to do after July 22. Third, and most importantly, get involved. There are many organizations in every state that serve veteran needs. Most are largely unknown except to those they serve. They lack financial resources to be sure, but more than that they lack people power. Your ‘boots on the ground’ can make a tremendous difference in the life of a veteran.

Thank you!
